Description :

The purpose of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of poor farm households and to increase poor   farmers' income in the selected project villages. The project   concentrates on those villages   with   a high proportion of national minorities in the counties of Minhe, Xunhua and Hualong, Qinghai Province. By supporting income generation activities, improving the drinking water supply and supporting capacity development, the project contributes to lifting poor households in the selected villages above the national poverty.

The following project activities shall be financed or co-financed from the Financial Contribution:

(1)     Income generation component (construction of warm sheds, accompanying training for the construction of the sheds, for shed-keeping and fodder production, support for fattening sheep and potential establishment of a sheep association);

(2)     Drinking water supply (construction of drinking water supply schemes,   accompanying training in water usage and   hygiene);

(3)     Capacity building for Line Agencies (training for extension services and farmers, financial support for the implementation of new innovative measures for demonstration of agriculture production and animal husbandry

Qualifications/Experience:

·           Academic Background relevant to rural development

·           Relevant work experience in the set up and promoting of rural development associations

·           Relevant work experience in the region

·           Relevant work experience with KfW

Languages:

English, Chinese would mean a distinct advantage
