To strengthen its competitive position the AFC Consulting Group in Bonn has reoriented its two business areas, international development cooperation and management advisory services to meet the changing international and national market conditions. In the future, these two areas will belong to two legally independent companies.

 

The international business operation will continue to operate under the name AFC Consultants International GmbH. GOPA Consultants, based in Bad Homburg/Germany, has acquired 70 per cent of the shares of AFC Consultants International GmbH.

 

"This is a step that enables the GOPA Group to further strengthen its leading position as a provider of consulting services in the field of development assistance, both in Germany and in Europe. Since 1973, AFC has been able to accumulate project experience in over 150 countries. Joining AFC will improve the regional and sector competence of the GOPA Group and will boost our competitiveness in an increasingly international market", said Dr Martin Güldner, GOPA's Managing Director."

 

In the future, the business areas strategy-, organisation- and personnel consulting for the agribusiness- and food-industry will operate under the  name of AFC Management Consulting GmbH.

 

According to the managing director Dr. Otto A. Strecker, the proceeds of the divestiture of shares are to become part of the expansion of the company's activities in the field of personnel consulting and the purchase of complementary investments.

 

The AFC - Consulting Group realized an annual turnover of around €8m., of which about €6m were contributed from the international operations.

 

Both new companies will retain their head offices in Bonn.
